A bilingual site for a mission ministry, in Amharic first and English second, with a giving page that accepts cards and falls back to bank transfer or Telebirr.

The problem

Supporters abroad pay by card while local supporters use Ethiopian payment methods, and the ministry had not yet chosen a payment provider.

What I built

The payment provider is a setting. The giving page works with Stripe or Chapa, supports several currencies, and still shows bank and Telebirr details when no keys are configured.

Results

  • The site launched before the payment account existed and needs no code change to enable it.
